This blog is dedicated to the Rajasthan Royals Cricket Team which plays in the Indian Premier League. Rajasthan Royals has been one of the most unique teams in the Indian Premier League in the sense that it is not a team which is packed with big names, does not spend much in the player auctions, it backs local talent, has a great dressing room atmosphere (which reflects on the field), is always lead by a talismanic player, has been invincible while playing at home, uses unconventional strategies to flummox opposing teams (and to hide the teams weaknesses), has an awesome team jersey colour of royal blue e.t.c.

There are various factors about Rajasthan Royals which makes it a charismatic team. I have been a die-hard fan of the Royals since its inception in the year 2008. From seeing its thrilling run in the year 2008 (when it won the IPL) to the ignominy of seeing it come 9th in the table (after losing 4 straight matches in a row) to seeing it being impenetrable at Jaipur in 2013 (which ensured a 3rd place finish) Rajasthan Royals and its Fans (like me) have had a roller-coaster of a ride !

This year there will be some big changes in the Rajasthan Royals line-up as the captain and one of the cornerstone's of the Royals batting line-up Rahul Dravid wouldn't be there to lead the team. He will be making way for Shane Watson to lead the team in his absence. How the powerful allrounder from queensland (who has been in the team since 2008) will cope up with the additional responsibility will be there to be seen.

This year, in the auctions, Rajasthan Royals, has worked hard to built a team which is more solid and consistent in its performances than ever. This is one of the reasons why the Royals have bought Kane Richardson, Steven Smith, Tim Southee apart from retaining Ajinkya Rahane, Shane Watson, Sanju Samson amongst others.

The challenge for the royals (just like in the previous seasons) would be to ensure how to keep winning at home and win more games away from home. They need to ensure better bowling at the death, have better quality of local players in their side and ensure they do not lose wickets in heaps.

Last but not the least Rajasthan Royals is very well known for losing matches on the trot. They need to ensure that they lay consistently just like they did in the last season. If they are able to cover these bases hopefully they would be able to qualify for the knockout rounds (in order to qualify for the champions league t20) and therefore give a chance to this blogger see the Royals play more this very year !! Amen to that wish !!

And yes.. All views are personal !! The Rajasthan Royals does not endorse this blog, its writer, or the articles !!
